It has been about 4 weeks since my last post. This is in part to not wanting to bore you with my day to day monotony. The other part is due to being busy busy busy. Despite being busy, I have not strayed from my weight loss program. I have still been exercising regularly and watching what I eat. I did however have to increase my calories due to competition.

 

My love and passion is tennis. At this point, I play in a weekly league and whatever tournaments I can get into. In order to be competitive, I can’t be at a caloric deficit during the match. So, on the day of the match, I eat 100-200 extra calories a few hours early in the day. Then an extra 100 of carbohydrate right before I head onto the court. Because  tennis is anaerobic in nature, I need the immediate energy from food. Within 1 hour post match, I eat 100 calories carbohydrate and 100 calories protein. I also drink low-calorie gatoraide all day long to hydrate. I would say I probably eat an extra 400 calories on game days.

 

The extra calories have been paying off. So far I have won 1st place in the only tournament I have entered so far, and am undefeated in my league matches. Although I am optimistic, I am fully expecting some losses to happen. In fact, I look forward to losses because you never fully know what your weaknesses are until someone shows you.

 

My exercise regimen is highly focused on tennis right now. I would say I played an average of 1 hour 5 days per week. Other than tennis, I have done 3 long runs once per week. I did an 8 mile, 8 mile and 9 mile. Lastly, I have done weights on upper and lower body within the same workout 2 times per week.
