The Benefits Of Exercise: Stress Relief

by Jackie on September 29, 2017

Regular exercise will help you to lose weight, improve your fitness and tone your body, but exercise is also a great natural stress reliever. Physical activity boosts the production of endorphins, the feel good hormones that are also known as the body’s own natural painkillers. Physical exercise improves your mood and increases a feeling of well-being in the body and the mind. Exercise releases tension and reduces and prevents stress, it helps you to relax and to sleep better at night, and it gives you energy throughout the day.

Even gentle or moderate exercises and short sessions can make a difference. Start with half an hour of physical activity a few times a week. If you do not have half an hour, try breaking it up to small 10-minute sessions. It is better to do ten minutes every day than to avoid exercising due to lack of time. Almost any kind of physical activity can relieve stress and tension and release important feel good hormones: try walking, swimming, cycling, jogging, Pilates, yoga, aerobics, tennis, skiing or any activity you enjoy doing.

I'm a fitness nut. I know what you're thinking, one of these people who has never been fat a day in her life, and can eat whatever she wants. The truth is I struggled with my weight growing up and lived in a household where everything seemed to be fried. Once I got away from home I realized I had the choice to eat and exercise how I wanted. I've gained a lot of insight into working as a personal trainer, and feel I can relate to others that were in my situation. I think if I can do it then you can to, and if you want to start kicking butt then hop on board and lets get started.
