If you are trying to lose weight and do not want any additional bulk, choose a product that does not contain creatine. Creatine helps to increase muscle mass and is popular with body builders, but there are creatine-free products too. Some products also contain additional ingredients that are designed to help you lose weight while building some lean muscle.

Some supplements contain testosterone-boosting ingredients, and if you are concerned about how these affect your body, choose a product that does not contain any testosterone boosters or a product that is formulated specifically for women. Many pre workout blends also use caffeine to give you quick energy and to keep you alert during your workout. If you are sensitive to caffeine or other stimulants, start with a small dose or choose a stimulant-free product.
