Are You Drinking Enough Water?

by Wendy on August 9, 2017

Staying hydrated is important for being healthy and feeling well, but how much water should you be drinking every day? The generally recommended amount is eight to ten glasses a day. There are occasions when drinking water is especially important, such as after exercise or post massage when you need to rehydrate and flush out toxins. Drinking a glass of water just before a meal can also help with weight loss because the water makes you feel fuller and can help you to avoid overeating.
The body’s cells need water to function properly, and drinking water keeps the body and the mind healthy. Dehydration can give you a headache, affect your digestion and even put you in a bad mood. Water is essential for the metabolism and the digestive system, and digestive problems such as constipation often a result from dehydration. Water helps to keep the bowel movements regular and it helps the body to break down food properly. If you suffer from constipation, drink a glass of hot water in the morning and again at night before sleep to help the digestive system.
