A Guide To The African Mango

Many people in the United States do not have much faith in their health care systems. Due to this, it is no surprise that people are now looking for alternative treatments and “super foods”. One of the most popular foods amongst people who are looking for natural treatments is the African Mango.

African Mango 1200Anyone who has ever eaten a mango will naturally assume the mango African is simply a mango from Africa. This is not the case. In fact, this supplement bears no relation to the fruit.  The supplement grows in the Cameroon jungles. Its active ingredient is found in the seeds of the plant.

Scientists have recently discovered that this plant can help with weight loss. One study divided the test subjects into two groups. One group was given the supplement while the other group was given a placebo. At the end of the 10 week trial, scientists found the group taking African mango lost an average of 28 pounds. They also lost body fat and dropped their cholesterol.

Researchers now believe that C-reactive protein affects the way that this supplement works. This is because the presence of this protein indicates Leptin resistance. Leptin is a hormone that tells the body to turn off hunger cravings. Over time many people develop a resistance to Leptin. This results in overeating.  Because of the effect that African mango has on Leptin, it can benefit those who want to lose weight.

As African mango is a relatively new supplement, research still needs to be conducted on the effects the substance has on the body. However, the positive reactions from those who have tried this supplement indicate that it does aid weight loss. People who eat a healthy diet and exercise regularly will find that this substance will speed up their rate of weight loss.
