No matter how many times nutritionists tell us how important breakfast is, it still remains the most neglected meal of the day. There could be a few reasons for this. Some people aren’t hungry in the morning, most people are in a hurry and don’t have time to make anything and most convenient breakfast options aren’t exactly healthy. To help combat the statistics we have done some research and compiled a list of the healthiest fast food breakfast options currently out there. There are a lot of breakfast options out there so we did the work of trying to weed out the unhealthy guys that are not helping you meet your weight loss options. So here we go – the healthiest fast food breakfast options:

The Starbucks Spinach and Feta Breakfast Wrap – Next time you are in line to pick up your coffee, add this wrap to your order. For a mere 290 calories it provides 6 grams of fiber which will help you feel fuller, longer.

McDonalds Egg McMuffin – Yep, you read that right. McDonalds made the list. This sandwich is only 300 calories with 18 grams of protein. This sandwich has fewer calories and less saturated fat than any other breakfast sandwich, which makes it the healthiest fast food breakfast sandwich at McDonalds.

Dunkin’ Donuts Egg White Turkey Sausage Wake-Up Wrap – This wrap has only a mere 150 calories due to its reduce-fat cheddar cheese, egg whites, spinach and turkey sausage. It has 11 grams of protein which will help you feel full and keep those morning cravings at bay.
Subway’s Western Egg White and Cheese Muffin Melt – This sandwich has only 160 calories while providing 15 grams of protein and 5 grams of fiber. If you don’t like the peppers and onions that regularly come on it, exchange them for tomatoes and spinach.

Jamba Juices’ Berry Topper Ideal Meal – The name says it all – this drink meets all of your nutrient needs. It is made with yogurt and soy milk, strawberries, blueberries and bananas, topped off with organic pumpkin flaxseed granola – all this for a total of 300 calories, 9 grams of protein and 7 grams of fiber – leaving you feeling full and satisfied.

Burger King’s Ham, Egg & Cheese Croissan’which – Made with black forest ham, this sandwich totals at 310 calories and 17 grams of carbs. The only downside of this sandwich is the high sodium content, so if you are watching our sodium intake, maybe steer clear of this one.

Panera Bread’s Breakfast Power with Ham on Whole Grain – This sandwich has 340 calories, 4 grams of fiber and 23 grams of protein. The whole grain bread gives this sandwich the staying power making you feel full longer. You can slash an extra 5 grams of saturated fat by ordering it without cheese.

Breakfast is an important meal because it starts your body off, fueling it for the rest of the day. Studies have shown that eating breakfast helps your body function properly and helps you avoid mid-day snacking and cravings.  It also help jumpstart your metabolism, setting the pace for how well it will burn calories the rest of the day. Eating breakfast can also help lower cholesterol and can help you lose weight. It is important when looking for a healthy breakfast, that you choose options that have a good mix of complex carbohydrates, protein and healthy fats. This combination of foods will help you feel full longer.
