Per Serving, 70 Calories For Egg Make It A Good Choice

With only seventy calories each, the calories for egg make it a good choice when you want to lose weight. However, the number of calories in an egg is not the only reason to consider an egg diet plan. This all-natural product is also packed with nutrition.

An egg contains the antioxidants, minerals, and vitamins you need to keep your body in good health. Contrary to popular belief, an egg has very little fat and cholesterol. Eggs are an excellent source of protein, so you can build and maintain lean muscle while losing unwanted pounds.

One option is an egg diet plan. The traditional plan is designed to increase your intake of protein, while reducing or eliminating your intake of carbohydrates. Frying is the main method to avoid when weight loss is your goal. The calories from butter, margarine, or oil needed for frying add up very quickly. Instead, preparing your eggs as soft-boiled, medium-boiled, hard-boiled, or poached does not add any extra calories. Although they take a little extra time to prepare, baked eggs are also delicious.

A third option is to eat only egg whites. While you will lose some of the nutritional benefits of whole eggs, it is a healthy, low-calorie option if you have a medical condition that makes it unwise to eat egg yolks. If you need a cholesterol-free diet, you can still eat egg whites.

Many dishes that call for eggs can use egg whites as a substitute. You can also prepare scrambled eggs by using a fat-free cooking spray. As egg whites are naturally flavorful, you may not even notice the difference.

Regardless of the particular diet or form you choose, eggs should be a part of every healthy diet. The protein in eggs has many benefits. In addition to building healthy muscle, protein promotes body strength, and is important for overall good health.

Each whole egg provides six grams of protein. A fact many people do not know is most of an egg’s protein is in the white. Each white contains four grams, whereas the yolk contains two grams. Whether you choose whole eggs or whites, you will be giving your body the protein it needs to stay healthy.
