Top 5 Foods You Should Buy Organic

Organic foods are often more expensive than non-organic. If it is not possible to buy organic all the time, which are the top 5 foods you should always try to buy organic and why?

1. Meat: if you are a meat eater, organic meat does not contain traces of antibiotics and hormones that are commonly used on non-organic farms. Organic farms also have much stricter requirements for animal welfare.

2. Soy: A large amount of the soybeans sold in the US are genetically modified. If you eat soy products, such as tofu, soy milk and other soy-based dairy alternatives, buying organic is the best way to avoid genetically modified soy.

3. Dairy: Milk, cheese and yogurt from an organic farm does not contain growth hormones or antibiotics that are often found in conventional dairy products.

4. Leafy greens: non-organic green vegetables can easily contain pesticides that is difficult to get rid of just by rinsing the leaves. Organic

kale, lettuce and other green leaves are healthier.

5. Apples: Apples contain a lot of healthy fiber but pesticide residue is often found in apples. Organic apples are the best option.
