Detox seems to be one of the most popular ways to lose weight recently. There seems to be endless ways to detox, but how do you know what way is right for you?
Detoxification is the process of eliminating toxins from your body. There are multiple ways that this can be done – with herbs, changing your diet, juice cleanses and supplements.  No matter which method you decide to do, one of the most important factors to a successful detox is patience. As with anything else in life, it is a process, not something that will make a difference overnight.

Detoxing provides physical as well as mental benefits. The most obvious benefits to a natural detox are the physical benefits. Most toxins in our bodies get stored in major organs like your stomach and liver. A detox will clean these organs out and help them work more efficiently. You will find yourself feeling lighter and have more energy. Your immune system will work more efficiently. A detox will also clear your blood and it will circulate better.

Beyond physical benefits, you will start to see mental benefits. You may find that sleeping will be easier and you are better able to concentrate. This is because a detox will help clear your brain functions. As you begin to see the physical and mental benefits you will feel better and physically and mentally – you may find yourself with more motivation to work out consistently. You may want to eat better and curb unhealthy habits.

One of the most effective ways to detox your body is through your diet. Focus on eating organic foods, especially leafy green vegetables, garlic and onions. Focus on getting a health and balanced diet. The less toxins you consume, the better your body can eliminate the toxins that are currently in your body.

The next step in a successful detox is to incorporate exercise into daily routine. Perspiration and circulation will help support your body in eliminating toxins better. You do not need to increase your regular exercise or go crazy, just focus on a regular, consistent exercise program.

It is also extremely important while doing a detox that you are drinking at least 64 ounces of water every at. The key word being at least. This will not only help your body flush out extra toxins, but will help keep your body hydrated and functioning properly.
There are a lot of ways to detox and below are just a few options you have in addition to the steps mentioned above.

Juice Cleanse – The idea behind the juice cleanse is that it frees up energy to focus on deep cleaning. The energy that is usually spent on breaking down your food, is now free to focus on eliminating toxins. It is important that you prepare your body before going on a straight juice cleanse because of what a drastic change it is. You can do a juice cleanse yourself or have the juices sent directly to you – for a fee.

Salt Baths – Also known as halotherapy – is another way to eliminate toxins from your body. Because of rock salts dry nature, it has the ability to travel through airways and absorb bacteria in your lungs. It can also benefit your skin irritations and allergies. Patience is the key with this option as it does require multiple baths before you see and feel the results. You can do it at home by adding two cups of Epsom salt to warm bath water and enjoy a long soak. You can do this three times a week.

Mud Therapy – This entails a full bldoy mud or clay wrap. The particles in clay carry a negative electrical charge while toxins carry a positive charge. The clay helps draw out the positively-charged toxins through the pores in your skin. Word to the wise – mud therapy is not for you who are claustrophobic, because it usually means being wrapped up in a sleeping bag type wrap for at least 20 minutes. This can be done at home to save on cost.

There is a lot of information and endless ways on how to detox your body, The most important thing to remember is that it requires patience and dedication to successfully clear out the toxins in your body.
